Public Service Information Campaign for the Prevention of STD/AIDS (1996-2000)

This project sought to educate the Filipino public and prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS (STD/AIDS). The different phases of the project focused on: (1) the impact of HIV/AIDS on people related to the PLHIV/AIDS; (2) recognition of signs and symptoms of STD/AIDS and the relation of STD to HIV; (3) prevention of child prostitution; and (4) partner notification. This project generated PHP 4,000,000.00 worth of media mileage.

Furthermore, the materials produced in this project won for ReachOut the following awards and recognition:

    • 1997 Gold Medal for Best Public Service Advertising, New York Festivals;
    • Mobius Advertising Awards; Illinois,USA;
    • Global Awards, New York, USA;
    • 1999 Anvil Awards of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines; and
    • Official Entry to the Asia Pacific Advertising Festival.

Grant received: US$ 200,000.00
Worth of free media space: PHP 4,000,000.00
