Programs and Projects
Service Delivery Program
ReachOut has pioneered the concept of a one-stop shop reproductive health center that includes a medical clinic, pharmacy, laboratory and outreach education. ReachOut has set up these centers, known as Safe Shops, in the cities of Manila, Pasay, Angeles and Baguio. The Safe Shops provide education, counseling and clinical services on reproductive health, including:
- Family Planning;
- Maternal and Child Health;
- Prevention of and Management of the Complications of Abortion;
- Prevention and Tretment of Reproductive Tract Infection and other Gynecological Conditions;
- Treatment of Infertility;
- Screening for Breast and Reproductive Tract Cancers;
- Education and Counseling on Sexuality and Sexual Health;
- Violence Against Women;
- Adoloscent Reporductive Health; and
- Men's Reproductive Health.
Communication and Information Programs
ReachOut designs campaigns for both mass and small media. In has years of experience in developing brochures, posters, comic books and public service advertising on radio and television. It has an in-house Public Affairs Department that can handle advocacy through the use of media. It regularly organizes special events like parades, conferences, fund-raisers and concerts. ReachOut also has the capability to develop and produce documentary and educational videos and other audio-visual presentations. ReachOut develops and produces information, education and communication materials in support of its own programs and projects and upon request by partners for their own use. ReachOut also operates the Helpline, a telephone counseling service on AIDS/STDs, family planning, sexuality, child abuse and violence against women.

Training Programs
ReachOut designs and conducts training for its own staff as well as participants from other organizations upon their request. Some of the training programs that are being offered are:
- Counseling: Designed for organizations that wish to set up a volunteer-based telephone or face-to-face counseling program on reproductive health concerns;
- IEC Materials Development and Production: Designed for program implementors, trainors, communications officers, and those who are directly involved and responsible for developing, producing and evaluating information, education and communication materials in the field of reproductive health. The course will be beneficial to those who want to develop practical skills relating to a wide range of IEC materials - from brochures to short-term communication campaigns;
- On-the-Job Training/Apprenticeship: reachOut entertains applications for on-the-job training and/or apprenticeship of undergraduate and graduate students. Trainees are given the opportunity to apply and hone skills they have learned in school through involvement in specific tasks such as psychometry, information dissemination, office management and others;
- Program Management: Designed for program managers and staff of government and non-government organizations to enhance their skills in managing development projects;
- Proposal Writing: Designed for program managers and staff of non-government organizations to enhance their skills in developing projects and writing proposals for submission to funding agencies;
- Reproductive Health Orientation: A comprehensive orientation on all elements of reproductive health. Treatment of topics can be tailored to suit the needs of participant - from highly medical and scientific (for those with medical backgrounds) to more social and cultural issues (for community workers and counselors);
- STD Syndromic Management: Designed for use by a broad range of health care workers (doctors, nurses, community health outreach workers, others) in resource-limited settings.
Research Programs
ReachOut conducts operations research as well as basic and secondary research for use of its own projects and clients. Research efforts include:
- Sero-surveillance for syphilis, gonorheas and HIV;
- Behavioural surveillance of sentinel groups (men who have sex with men, male and female sex workers, and men with STDs);
- Impact evaluation of projects;
- Focus groups discussions for pre-testing of IEC materials; and
- National media reach surveys.
